Let’s create a space fit for all seasons.

The bedroom is a sacred space…so sacred, in fact, that many psychologists suggest keeping all arguments out of that room. (Where SHOULD you argue? We’re still trying to figure that one out.)

The place you rest your head should look touchable and feel decadent, engaging your senses in a full body experience.

Today we are sharing a few of the ways we approach soft furnishings for the bedroom. It’s more than just throwing a bed and some side tables against the wall. Let’s make it cozy.

1. UPHOLSTERED HEADBOARD

One design element we suggest for most of our clients is the upholstered headboard. (This can be fabricated with stain-resistant fabric if you’re concerned about stains.) Upholstered headboards rival their wooden or metal counterparts by creating a place for you to enjoy a good book, that evening wine, or your morning coffee without leaning against the wall (ugh!) or having to sit in a chair when you just aren’t in a chair-sitting mood.

2. LUXE PILLOWS & LINENS

From your bed sheets and that mountain of throw pillows to your perfect-for-reading headboard, you should feel most at home in your bedroom. If you can score that same feeling for kids’ rooms and guest rooms, welcome to a more well-rested household.

When we outfit these spaces with soft furnishings, we often specify custom bedding, sheets with a specific thread count, and a complete ensemble of pillows and throws that gives your bed a camera-ready look when you’re up and about for the day.

3. LAYERS OF TEXTURE

Texture is the hallmark of a well-designed space, and that is why we mix fabric patterns and materials as much as possible. Lined blackout shades with linen drapery? Done. Velvet upholstered chairs with brocade lumbar pillows? We’re here for it. Whether your aesthetic is modern glam, rustic farmhouse, or something else altogether, we will add the flavor to your design through delectable soft furnishings.
