Our homes nurture and support us in all ways, emotionally, spiritually and physically like a virtual hug. According to the field of Neuro Aesthetics (the study of beauty), our home is a “feeling state”.

We are often called upon to help those widowed, separated or divorced take back their spaces (or create new ones) that are no longer a source of comfort and create happy soothing environments that just “feel” good and promote healing.

SOFT FURNISHINGS, A PLACE TO START

1. SOFT FURNISHINGS, A PLACE TO START

Change out the accessory pillows on your sofa. A new pattern can change the entire look and feel of your space.

Pull out a color that you love from this pattern and layer with a second pair of solid pillows to create dimension and warmth. A solid textured throw will also do the trick.

Important Tip: If possible, change your living space by moving around the furniture. Even the smallest change in a floor plan can make a big difference.

PRIMARY BEDROOM

2. PRIMARY BEDROOM

Wake up and feel good. What do you see? How do you feel? Do you smile? This is your sanctuary. Keeping it light will create a serene feel.

A new white duvet with coordinating white shams makes for a beautiful foundation. Layer with 2 smaller pillows in front in a pale color.

Think neutral cream, ice blue or how about pale pink- the color that speaks of romance!

BRING IN PLANTS

3. BRING IN PLANTS

Not only is green calming, but plants make the best accessories. Great on end tables, nightstands or coffee tables on a stack of magazines. Additionally, think about adding them to shelving or bookcases. Keeping containers in the same color helps add symmetry and calm to your space…all white always works.
